OPEN AUDITIONS IN AUTUMN/WINTER 2026
As part of Hull Musical Theatre Company’s 130th birthday celebrations, we’re heading back to the 19th century for our first announced production for 2027… SWEENEY TODD.
Set in the shadowy streets of Victorian London (and not so far from the year HMTC first formed), Sweeney Todd feels like a delightfully dark way to honour our incredible heritage. Same century. Same drama. Slightly more murder.
This is Sondheim at his most fiendish: razor-sharp harmonies and a tricky musical score that demands cut-throat precision from a huge cast and orchestra. Luckily for us, performing complicated things together very well is kind of our speciality - which makes it the perfect musical to showcase what our Hull Musical Theatre Company community does best.
23 - 26 June 2027 at Middleton Hall Hull.
