Case Study Background

In TC, the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process involves cooperation among various business units, IT, and a process mining solution. The process mining solution seamlessly integrates with a process alerting engine that generates alerts based on predefined business rules. This alert engine also creates different results to be analyzed, not only presenting alert statistics within the tool but also providing the capability to conduct process analytics on the set of processes that triggered similar alerts.

 The transactional systems at TC, primarily ERP Systems and commercial sales management systems, are interconnected with a central database. The Process Mining software is then connected to this central database for data retrieval. Additionally, TC incorporated the process alerting engine with the central database. The alerts are subsequently directed to the ERP system for handling based on the recommendation. To support predictive analytics and machine learning, a Machine Learning Server has been introduced into the BI landscape, enabling the utilization of R and Python algorithms for predictive data analysis.
