Question: What inspired you to enter into Immunology?
Answer: Immunology has limitless scope in medical field. Proper understanding of immunology is the key in prevention and cure of any infectious diseases according to me.
Question: Since how long, you been into this scientific field and in which cities you have been associated for administration, entrepreneurship, teaching, research, commercial and training programs?
Answer: I have been in this scientific field since last 25 years. I had served in many cities and villages. I had started my career in small village namely Karamsad in Gujarat .Other places in Gujarat were Valia, Vadodara. In Madhyapradesh I had sweved in Ujjain and Indore. In UP, I served in Lucknow, Barely. Where as in Rajasthan, I served only in Udaipur and Rajsamand.
Question: What are your future plans for administration, entrepreneurship, teaching, research and training programs in Immunology?
Answer: I am too much interested in Immunology and would like to work in this branch as and when I will get an opportunities. I would like to enter into administration along with teaching.
Question: What kind of Startups can be started in Immunology? What minimum infrastructure would it need?
Answer: Minimum infrastructure required depends on which microbes we are interested to carry out research. We require particular antigen to find out antibody titre after vaccination.
Question: What is Immunology? What are the major branches in Immunology?
Answer:
Immunology is branch of medicine and biology concerned with immunity. The main branches of Immunology are as follows
1. Clinical immunology
2. Ecoimmunology and behavioral immunology
3. Developmental immunology
4. Molecular Immunology
5. Cellular Immunology
6. Immunogenetics
7. Immunochemistry
8. Immunophysics
Question: What according to you are the Top 5 major challenges (research problems) which need to be resolved urgently by world’s scientists in the area of Immunology?
Answer: Major challenges are as follows
1. Development of vaccines against new immerging microbes like Corona
2. Development of Vaccines against diseases like HIV
3. Non- availability of volunteers for study herd immunity against particular microbe.
4. Financial help from government
5. Financial help for WHO.
6. Immunology laboratory also require well equipped barrier-type SPF animal house with a temperature control and HEPA filter clean air system
7. All animals should be kept in strict in strict control conditions with very experienced personnel taking care for them, to get such a experienced personnel is very difficult.
8 . The immunology laboratory require refrigerator, -80 C freezer.
9.. It require cell culture room with positive pressure filtered air housing and laminar flowhood
Question: What is Diagnostic Microbiology? How can Entrepreneurs, National Medical Commission, ICMR, CSIR manufacture bulk Medical Diagnostics for national consumption and export?
Answer: Diagnostic microbiology is the study of microbial identification and laboratory diagnosis of any microbial infections. National Commission, ICMR and CSIR should provide facilities like below.
1.Immunology laboratory also require well equipped barrier-type SPF animal house with a temperature control and HEPA filter clean air system
2. 2-dimensional (protein and DNA) gel electrophoresis, Western blot and different methods of protein isolation, purification, identification and engineering should be performed.
3. The laboratory should be equipped with state-of the art BDLSR II flow cytometer with four lasers ( red, blue, violet and UV) giving the possibility for the researcher to work with as may as 18 different fluorescent colors simultaneously.
4. It should have 2 clean laminar cabinets (class II) with HEPA filter system, a CO2 incubator and all the tools required for cell research .
5. Immunology should maintain a vast collection of cell lines (including different hybridomas, tumo lines etc) cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen stocks.
6. All animals should be kept in strict in strict control conditions with very experienced personnel taking care for them, to get such a experienced personnel is very difficult.

Question: What are your views on the Russia-Ukraine crisis?
Answer: War should be avoided by proper and fruitful talk. Both Russia and Ukaraine should find out solution by discussion and not war. Both countries should immediately stop war and stay in peaceful manner. Peaceful solution should be find out between these two countries.
Dr. Rajeev R Shah is a competent and experienced medical microbiologist . He had been awarded his PhD from medical faculty, Government Medical College, Surat, VNSGU. He had been even awarded with D.Sc.(Medical Microbiology) from IASR(International Agency of Standards and Ratings) on recommendation of world talent search committee in the year 2020 and selected again for the same in the year 2022. He had been awarded as best researchers award by International Scientist Awards 2020 by VD GOOD, and again had been given the same best researcher award consecutively for 2021 along with best faculty award for 2021 by the same organization.. He had been selected for the three international and one national awards in the year 2022. He had been nominated as a member of editorial board in many international journals. He had been invited and nominated as Conference Committee Member in many international conferences. He had organized one international conference, World Summit on immunology, microbiology & infectious diseases as vice president on 23rd November, 2020. He was awarded with best editorial article in the issue of October,2019 in ASMI, an international journal of microbiology. He has been invited as a keynote speaker in International Conference on Oncology & Virology at Bangkok. He had published 41 papers in various international journals, among all these except three papers he had been first and main author. Recently his twelve articles on Covid 19 has been published in an international journals. His one research paper has been selected as a chapter in one text book with the title “High Lights in Medicine & Medical Research”. Recently he is working as a head & Professor in microbiology department of Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur, India.
