Course Description:

Introduction to the basic Christian theology: God, creation, Trinity, Christology, sin and salvation, grace, and pneumatology. Participants will appreciate the issues associated with these topics historically and its usage in the life of the church and community in the modern-day context.

Course Objectives:

To help understand the basic doctrine of the Christian faith systematically and appropriate contextualization
To apply the doctrinal truths in a practical way in the life of the church (through fellowship and discipleship) and community (through mission).
To have an overview of the 39 Articles

Required Reading (400 – 500 pages) (10%)
Assignment 1 (short essays – 1,500 words) (30%)

Write an essay on one of the following topics:

Write an article based on Part 1 of Knowing God, explaining to someone why he or she should strive to know God.
Outline your response to the statement “The NT nowhere states that Jesus is God”.

Assignment 2 (long essay – 3,000 words) (60%)

Write an essay on the following topic:

Choose and describe five or six of the attributes of God that you consider to provide the best and most comprehensive description of the God of the Bible
