Course Description
This course aims to assist students to learn interpreting biblical texts from different genres; it will explore various approaches to produce a sound interpretation that is clear, logical, and practical.
Course Objective
1. Student will understand the various genres in the Bible
2. Student will learn to understand methods of interpretation depending on the different genres
3. Student will know the various interpretation methods/exegetical methods
4. Student will understand and appreciate the various biblical genres
Prepare a sermon script on a narrative genre (40%). Present this sermon and ask feedback from your audience. The feedback form will be prepared for you.
Prepare an outline of Bible Study on a prophetic text in the old Testament (30%). The outline should contain your reasons explaining why the passage is prophetic in nature and how it is relevant to the modern church today.
Select a poetic passage in the New Testament (30%). Explain why this is a poetic text and list the steps to interpret it
