Course Description:
This course is to acquaint the students with the heritage and distinctiveness of Anglicanism to equip them for ministry. They will study the history, ethos, confessions, polity, and liturgy of the Anglican Church.
Course Objective:
To provide the student with a general understanding of what Anglicanism is today.
The course is run as a 12-lesson Course with additional sessions for presentations.

b. Assignment 1 (Short Essay - 1,500 words)
c. Assignment 2 (Long Essay - 3,000 words)

a. Write one (1) essay of 1,500 words answering one of the following questions:
Can the Holy Spirit be shown at work in the history of the Anglican Church in Sarawak?
2. “The Anglican form of ministry (Bishops, Priest, and Deacons) tends to make church members more reliant on the ordained clergy and less prepared to be engaged in ministry themselves.” Do you agree? How can we encourage more lay ministry in an Anglican church?
b. Assignment 2 (Long Essay – 60%)
Write one (1) essay of 3,000 words answering one of the following questions:
What modifications or adaptations are needed for a church embedded in the English culture to be successfully transplanted into the Sarawak culture?
The Anglican Church is said to be “catholic and reformed”. How can this be?
