You can construct this in any order you’d like, I like to start from the smallest component and work my way up. In any case - install the diodes first!
They protect the rest of the circuit.
1) Diodes + Resistor
-Be sure to watch the polarity of the diodes
(Arrow points towards the stripe)
-Be sure to watch the polarity of the LED
(Longer arm on top)
2) Front Headers
-It can help to solder one pin first and adjust
3) Capacitors
-Be sure to watch the polarity of the caps
(stripe side down)
4) Jacks
5) Switches
-Slots are extra wide
-Keep connectors to one side for straight switch
6) Pots
-Snap in, then solder
7) Power header
-On OTHER side of board
-Check for proper orientation (tabbed side pointing out!)
-Can use breadboard to balance when soldering
8) Breadboard
-Make sure the markings are right-side up
-Install straight or be sad about it!
The top left row of headers connects to the two knobs. The right pin for each is CW, and the left is CCW, with the center wiper pin.
Similarly, the switches are wired to the next header down with left, center, and right pins.
Across the bottom you’ll find the two 2-pin 12v power headers, as well as a set of 6 headers in the center. These 6 pins each connect to the positive pin of one of the six jacks below.
Lastly, the DPDT jack turns the power on and off. Your switch may have 2 clicks to turn it all the way on, make sure it goes all the way up!
