1x Hive Mind Hotswap board/faceplate set
(Available HERE)
4x Thonk-style 3.5mm jacks
1x DPDT mini toggle switch
This is a quick, simple build. You add all components to the board, place the faceplate, flip, and solder!
1) Place Components
no need to solder yet
2) Place Faceplate
add the faceplate on top of the unsoldered components.
3) Flip and solder
flip the board and balance the ends so that all of the components can hang in place.
Solder the pins on the switches and jacks. There may be some gapping between the jacks and the board, depending on the model of switch used. Soldering it upside-down like this makes it a non-issue
3) Flip and add nuts
flip the board to view the faceplate and add knurled nuts around jacks. I like to leave the switch nut off, but you're welcome to add it as well.
When in the "normal" position, the top and bottom upper jacks are routed to the top and bottom lower jacks.
Moving the switch to the right "inverted" position will swap signals.
Super-useful for swapping CV pitch between a bassline and melody, switching drum sounds (open and closed hats, for example), or swapping filters or effects
