October
It's time for baseball. Feel the cool air, hear the ball and bat, take me out to the ball game! We are going to try using this website for our PE lessons. Each month will have songs, books, core words, and games/sports.

The ball – A small white ball that’s thrown and hit.
The bat – A stick used to hit the ball.
The bases – Four spots in a square (first, second, third, home) you run to.
The glove – A big glove used to catch the ball.
The goal – Hit the ball, run around all the bases, and score a run.
It’s a team game – One team hits, one team catches and throws.
Place a large, lightweight ball (such as a beach ball or foam ball) on top of a batting tee. Students use a foam bat or paddle to hit the ball off the tee toward a target or open space. The bat can be mounted to a stand or adapted with handles for easier grip.
Hang a wiffle ball from a rope or bungee cord so it swings at chest height. Students can practice hitting the ball without chasing it, as it stays in place and returns after each swing.
Create a rolling ramp from PVC pipe or a gutter section. Place the ball at the top and let it roll toward the batter, who swings when it reaches them. This can be paired with a switch-activated blower to roll lightweight balls toward the batter for students who need a fully switch-accessible setup.
Switch adapted pitching machine toward a target.
Poly spots as bases.
