Collaborative Lecture Series
The Dept. hosted a Guest Lecture as a part of the Collaborative lecture series organised by the Depts of History, Sophia College (Autonomous) and Vaze College (Autonomous) on 23rd August, 2022 at 11 am in the Mini Auditorium. Dr. Rashna Poncha shed light on the topic 'The Contribution of the Parsis to Bombay : An Enduring Legacy'.
Book Exhibition
The Dept. of History and the Library organised an exhibition of books base on History called 'Bibliotheca' on 26th August, 2022 from 10 am onwards.
Book Reading on

The Dept., under the aegis of UGC and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, organised a Book Reading on 'Evolution of English Education in India' to celebrate the Shikshak Parva, 2022 on 13th September, 2022 at 10:30 am.

Rachnatmak Manch (Students' Seminar) on
The Dept. organised the Rachnatmak Manch (Students Seminar) on 'Rediscovering Mumbai : Known and Unknown Paths' to celebrate the Iconic Week on 'Rethinking Tourism' under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. It was held on 30th September, 2022 at 11 am in the Mini Auditorium.
Guest Lecture on
The Dept. organised a Guest Lecture on ‘India: The Mother of Democracy’ in collaboration with the Department of Political Science of Vaze College ( Autonomous) in which she highlighted all the strong points of our democracy, constitution and law.
Educational Visit to the
The Department organised a One Day Visit to the Pandulena Caves and Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies, Nashik on 8th December, 2022 for the students of TYBA History. 14 students of TYBA History went for this trip and they were accompanied by 2 teachers and 1 guardian of a differently abled student.
Movie Fest (Screening of movies based on the two World Wars)
The Department organised a Two Day Movie Fest called ' Real and Reel: The World at War' on 3rd and 4th January, 2023 from 11 am onwards, a screening of movies based on the World Wars. Three movies were screened: 1917, Saving Private Ryan and the Imitation Game; this was followed by a discussion on the Role of Science and Technology during WWI and WWII.
Educational Visit to
The Dept organised a 6 nights and 7 days Educational Tour to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer from 3rd February to 9th February, 2023. 46 students went for the trip and they were accompanied by 2 faculty members of the dept.
Exhibition on
The Dept. organised an event called Mulk Maratha, showcasing the Maratha culture and heritage from 16th to 18 th century. Maratha food, weapons, sartorial, forts, ornaments, etc were displayed by the students of TYBA history and they also did cultural performances.
Annual Photo Exhibition:
‘Chitrashala’ is the annual photo exhibition of the photos taken during the annual excursion. This year the dept. visited Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, which was beautifully captured and presented in this photo exhibition. The students also prepared a 3-D model highlighting their journey from the Bandra Terminus station to Jaisalmer and then Jodhpur. Chitrashala was conducted by the Department on 13th March, 2022 in the foyer outside Room 310 and was inaugurated by Dr. C.V.S. Rangasai, Photographer and Former Head, Department of Business Economics, Vaze College (Autonomous).
Online Workshop
The Department of History organised an Online Workshop called ‘Paramarsh’ on 15th April, 2023, on the Zoom platform in which we explored two interesting pathways to a career after majors in History and through the journey of two esteemed alumni of the department.
