About The Program

About Hershey Bands

The Hershey High School Band Program serves over 130 students at Hershey High School as one of the largest organizations in the Derry Township School District. The HHS Band Program includes several components including the Trojan Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Indoor Color Guard. The High School Program also supports thriving programs at Hershey Middle and Elementary Schools. Members perform throughout the year in a variety of settings, including Varsity Football games, marching exhibitions, stage concerts, and community performances. In addition, the Indoor Color Guard perform and compete during the Winter and Spring season. These groups have been recognized both locally and nationally for their outstanding effort and abilities. Derry Township School District has been annually recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Hershey High School Band Program is to achieve and promote the highest standards of music education and music performance. We strive to facilitate the musical enrichment of the student membership by providing opportunities for significant musical experiences and personal growth. We promote the place and value of music in the Hershey community and the role music plays in the cultural, intellectual, and social lives of young adults. We equip students with potential to achieve greatness as they develop confidence, cooperation, responsibility, and high standards of excellence and character.
