During your regular gameplay, you'll obtain free emeralds from quests, events and achievements. But what are the best ways to spend those emeralds?
Energy, you'll need lots of it to obtain equipment for your heroes. Spend 100 Emeralds each day to buy 2 x 120 Energy. This cheap additional Energy is one of the best investments you can make with the Emeralds obtained in the game.
Emerald Exchange, be careful here with gambling Emeralds for Gold.
Spend 20 Emeralds every day to complete your daily quest and obtain a small reward.
Do NOT spend any more here, there are better ways to obtain gold.
Events, there are various special events in the game that are worth investing in a little to obtain greater bonus rewards. So if you have extra Emeralds left after spending the previous 120, saving them for the right events would be a wise thing to do. For more information click the 'News' tab at the top of the page.
Outland, looting chests for Skin Stones. You'll need many, many, many, many Skin Stones to upgrade your favourite heroes. So if you can afford to do so, paying 2 x 90 Emeralds to open two additional chests and a bonus chest at each BOSS will be well worth it. This will cost you a total of 540 Emeralds for 9 extra chests. This too can be done every day, but you'll likely not have enough Emeralds unless you start paying for them or you receive a top 10 reward from the (Grand) Arena daily.
Elemental Spirits, Totems are essential to Titan battles. The only way to upgrade them is with Trophies. Now the Bronze and Silver Trophies you need for your Elemental Totems can be obtained easily enough. But the CoW Trophies to upgrade your Dark/Light Totems and Gold Trophies to level up the final 40 levels of your Elemental Totems take a LONG time to gather. So if you really need to burn through some Emeralds, this is where to do it.
For Adventures 09, 10, 11, 12 and 13 custom routes (without wait time) have been added.
Make sure your team knows you're using the custom guild maps and not the outdated solfors.
Adventure 13 varies every day, as it randomly uses one of the maps from 9 to 12.
The difference is that the enemy teams are all maxed (except for any Ascension upgrades) and the enemy buffs are stronger, e.g. 100% damage resist as well as 100% damage increase and 250% health increase.
Check the tab 'ADVENTURE MAPS' at the solfors website to get the routes for the earlier adventure maps 1 through 8. If you follow those standard paths, you'll have no problem enjoying these adventures together with your fellow guild members.
When your pattern becomes Red rank you can upgrade it to the Ultimate ranks. The first time you will always succeed, but the Ultimate rank you obtain will be random. You can see the odds in the probability column below. If you try and upgrade an Ultimate rank pattern again, you will have the exact same odds. Your pattern will never become weaker, but there is a good chance the pattern doesn't improve and you'll just be wasting the Golden Threads. Especially if you're already at Ultimate +3 or higher, there will be a 75% or more chance of failure. But the Ultimate rank patterns will always give back all the golden threads that were needed to make them. In fact if you got a rank of +2 or higher you'll even make an extra profit. So the trick here is to only ever gamble on the Ultimate pattern once. If you aren't satisfied with the rank you obtained, start a new pattern and upgrade it all the way to Ultimate. Then keep the best one and unravel the other for profit. You can repeat this process until you have achieved Ultimate +6 and it will ensure you never run out of Golden Threads.
[Hero Wars Guide] Totem Fusion Is Coming

It looks like we now have the full picture of totem fusion. Keep in mind, these are not the only fusion skill combinations that provide a notable improvement. However, I’ve selected them to avoid any overlapping skills between totems. This way, every totem can be freely matched without sacrificing power.
There’s a small trick to getting the skill you want. If you use 100 catalysts to try and place a new skill on a totem, there’s still a 20.8% chance of ending up with a random skill. With catalysts being hard to come by, that can be quite a loss. Instead, start with just 10 catalysts to cheaply roll a random skill (try for the one you want though, you might get lucky). Then, use at least 90 catalysts on the same slot to change it to the skill you want with a 100% success rate. On top of that, you’ll have a 53.8% chance of getting a higher rank. If you go up to 100 catalysts, that chance rises to 59.6%. To sum up: don’t waste 100 catalysts trying to place a fusion skill directly. First use 10 to try and get the skill you want, then use 100 catalysts to safely convert the random skill into the right one.
At Hero Wars Guide you can easily keep track of all current and upcoming events.
You can also find some information about what type of quests these events have,
how many tiers at each type and the rewards you can obtain.
At the solfors website some kind people keep track of all the gifts that are handed out by the developers of Hero Wars Dominion Era. You'll find them under the 'WEB GIFTS' tab.
You can also check out the news at the source at the Hero Wars Dominion Era community. You'll have to open each post to find the gift links, but there is also all kinds of other useful information.
You might have noticed that everybody and their mother are playing with Dante on their main team. Contrary to what most people seem to think, he can be killed, even quite easily at that. So here are the 3 simple rules to kill Dante:
Every time he dodges he gets energy, so don't let him dodge. That means no using warriors and archers, because only physical attacks can be dodged. Even magic based tanks are better than physical ones. This has the added bonus that Dante is weak to magic and pure damage, so you should have been using that anyway.
Your whole team needs to be able to survive the Dante special (at least once). So you want armour/dodge buffs from skills and artifact. Also use armour patronage pets on casters.
If Dante is under control, he dies fast. So, stun, blind, charm, whatever you got. If the enemy is using Sebastian or Khorus as well, try using Polaris and/or the War Flag of Frost to counter their effects.
If you follow these 3 simple rules you too can kill Dante!
There are variations, but the core is always Dante (Cain) + Augustus + Orion.
Sometimes you'll see Sebastian instead of Nebula/Dorian or another healer/damage dealer instead of Dorian.
There are also variations to counter the above team, but the easiest setup should be: tank + Isaac (Axel) + Sebastian (Oliver) + damage dealer + healer/dmg dealer.
Try to avoid using healers that stand in front like Celeste because they'll most likely die and give Dante more energy to attack. It's best if they are in the 5th place. Your damage dealers should be doing magic and/or pure damage so Dante can not dodge their attacks. Further more they should be fast at attacking.
Also make sure they can survive at least 1 attack from Dante's special. Below are four examples, but there are many other possible combinations.
Here we have another dodge hero that is giving people trouble. But guess what, if you can kill Dante, you can kill Yasmine too. The same 3 rules apply. However she does have some unique features and counters that are worth mentioning.
Apart from the dodge, Yasmine is all about crits and the poison damage she adds with this. Coupled with Cain patronage and her special skill that causes her dodge and crit to spike even higher, it can seem like she has endless energy. But the interesting thing is that she does not start until she's been attacked. So unless she is tanking or Axel is the main pet and splits the damage or she is taking splash/aoe damage, Yasmine will not use her special. Most tanks however have splash damage, so you'll often see her being stuck attacking the tank.
The best tanks to use against Yasmine are Aurora, Corvus and Julius.
Aurora has a lot of dodge herself plus she does aoe magic damage that stuns.
So if Yasmine attacks her, Aurora will receive all the energy she needs to kill her.
Corvus' flag ability causes enemies to receive pure damage every time they attack.
So the more Yasmine uses her special 7 hits combo special, the faster she will kill herself.
Julius' shield ability protects allies from damage and when broken, it gives an armour buff, cleanses poison and heals them. This will 'reset' whatever Yasmine had been doing.
The best other heroes to use against Yasmine are Celeste, Nebula and Amira.
Celeste heals, cleanses poison (also adding a temporary immunity) and even her auto attack does magic damage. This makes her both a good healer and pretty much a perfect counter. Make sure to put an armour patronage pet (Axel) on her so she does not die.
Nebula cleanses poison and heals, although a lot less than Celeste. She also boosts whatever other heroes you brought along by a lot, including their chance to dodge.
And luckily because of Osh, almost everybody has a decent Nebula.
Amira is very popular at the moment, mostly because of her cured gold special that blows up the whole enemy team. However she also uses a debuff that increases the crit chance of enemy agility heroes with the crit stat, but makes all their critical hits miss.
Of course there are other useful heroes to use against Yasmine. They are mostly the same ones that are also useful against Dante. But this should be more than enough to easily kill her.
You can click this link for a list of all Guild Quests.
Now the healing, taking damage and dealing damage quests you'll mostly complete automatically while playing. Even if you're not getting the maximum at each and miss the two highest, you'll still be able to gather 58 x 3 points.
The same goes for killing enemies in the campaign. You get 520 Energy to spend every day. It's impossible not to kill at least 500 enemies with this, so that's another 24 points.
From the Guild Activity rewards you'll obtain more than enough Enhancement Runes. So upgrading heroes' Glyphs with 2,500 rune energy at the forge should be an easy to obtain 52 points.
Clear the tower (automatically at level 130) every day for money and you'll also earn 340+ Skull Coins for 34 points.
From the tower and events (or selling experience potions if you need more) you'll get plenty of gold. Spending 3.5 million every day can be done by buying upgrades for your Titan Artifact Seals for 56 points.
While you're there also upgrade one regular Titan Artifact with essence of the elements.
If you do just 1 upgrade every day, you'll have plenty even in the weekends and that's another 62 points.
Now by doing these previous two, you should have gotten a lot of Sparks of Power. So you've automatically completed the Obtain Sparks of Power quests for 60 points.
In the Tournament of the Elements, if you make it to 6th stage every day you'll earn at least 2,350 Coins. While you're upgrading your Titan Artifacts use those coins to buy 110 titan artifact fragments. This will complete both the exchange coins and purchase from shop quests for 80 + 30 points.
You should already be completing an Adventure every day, so these are 46 points for free.
If you're smart about it, you'll not spend all your Chaos Particles but save at least 250 for the next day. This is because there is a chance you'll only get Pet Potions as rewards for an adventure. So if you have a buffer, you'll have no problem completing the upgrade Pet Stones quest for 72 points.
After doing all this you should have completed most Daily Quests so those are at least
12 points for free. If you're short a few, just do the easy ones like 'Upgrade your Heroes' skills 3 times' and 'Use EXP Potion'.
At this point you've already obtained 702 points, earning yourself the extra Portal Charge and the daily 3,500 Prestige.
Now this wall of text might seem like a lot, but most of this stuff you were already doing. Just find the few things you hadn't thought of yet and at most it'll add a few minutes to your daily playtime.
