We began our affinity diagram work by dissecting our individual interviews and writing the important data on specifically colored posted notes. Next, we organized these posted notes up on the whiteboard in order to see a visualization of all of the data points in front of us. Using our judgement, we split the information into categories, and found common themes between each interviewee. Our team then organized these posted notes into corresponding categories. When going over data and reviewing our themes, we noticed parallels in which we drew arrows or notes such as “lack of shopping apps,” but refer to the incentives because we see an increase in the use of shopping apps when they are incentive based. By organizing our information in an affinity diagram, we were able to clearly determine the common themes between users and make sense of the information collected.
