Ms. Candra Clariette has served the students, teachers and parents of Metro Nashville Public Schools for the past 15 years as a teacher, literacy specialist and instructional coach. Ms. Clariette currently serves as the literacy coach at Haynes Middle. She is a graduate of Tennessee State University and holds degrees in Speech Communication/Theatre and Education Administration. Currently, Ms. Clariette is finishing up her doctoral work in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.
As a 3rd generation educator, Ms. Clariette has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for students and families to embrace literacy. She started the Literacy Night concept in the MNPS district by hosting the inaugural Haynes Family Literacy Night in 2018, setting the exemplar for other schools to adopt. Ms. Clariette has also been recognized nationally by the professional education publication, Education Week, for leading literacy based after-school programs throughout the Nashville community. In her spare time, Ms. Clariette likes to read, garden, and attend concerts.
