Kendra Bradford was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee. She attended Tennessee State University which is what led her to Nashville. After graduating from TSU, she decided to stay here. She completed her Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is currently completing a second Master’s degree at the same university in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
A note from Ms. Bradford:
I have been a teacher for 11 years. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at Caldwell Elementary (now Ida B. Wells Elementary), Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and Joelton Middle School. This school year, I am excited about teaching 5th grade ELA at Haynes Middle School.
I enjoy my job and the joy of watching children grow and develop!! I look forward to meeting my students and joining them on their learning journey.
Summer L. Thompson-Naylor is a fifth grade Social Studies teacher. She graduated from Tennessee State University. This is her first year at Haynes Middle School. She has one child, Carter who is a junior in high school. She enjoys time with her family, teaching all her amazing students, and anything outdoors. She is excited to join the Haynes team and looks forward to an amazing school year.
Maritza Herod has been in education for 14 years. She teaches 5th and 6th Math. She received her undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University, Masters in Education from Trevecca University, and a Masters Degree from Lipscomb University. Mrs. Herod has been married for 20 years. She has two children, Myah, and Haden.
