First day into university and we are divided into 9 teams, each team is created from mixture of year 1s, 2s, and 3s! the topic of my first jam was "Opposite"! We were each given a classic game and told to apply Opposite to it, in any concept we desire. The game we got was Frogger and the way we applied the "opposite" was having Frogger getting tired of getting squashed with the cars, so he is trying to save all the frogs he can!
At first, I was part of a two man team of programmers, but slowly we all start to feel the lack of existence for Game Designer. At the beginning when we were dividing responsibilities, since we were a small team, we don't need a Game Designer (rookie mistake). But somewhere in the middle we felt the lack of GD! Without putting a label on it, very naturally, I started to piece together all the necessities we were missing and filled in the role. Communicating what features we can and should cover for the game and in the end we were satisfied with the final result.
Since we were all relatively new to game design, we didn't published it in any specific outlet like itch.io. This might change in the future but for now you can download the build version from the following links:
