Working with kids has been my dream since I was a little girl. I would spend my days playing teacher with my friends and stuffed animals. From the start, I knew I wanted to help people discover the world around them. I want kids to be excited about school, not something they despise.
Over the years I have gained great leadership skills from the summer camp I volunteer at. I help keep the kids happy and teach them important life skills such as responsibility, respect, and kindness. I wish to teach my students the same thing, even if it isn't apart of the explicit curriculum.
I also have gained so much insight while working as a gymnastics coach. I love being a motivator and role model for all of my kids. I love the look on their face when they finally achieve a skill they had been working hard for. My job has also taught me how to manage behavior, because sometimes dealing with 10 8-year olds at a time is not easy!
Having a strong personal connection with someone is so important to me. I want to be there for everyone and help in anyway I can with any problems that arise. I feel like this compassion I have is why I chose to be a teacher. My goal in life is to make a difference in at least one person's life, and with teaching you can impact so many kids in a positive way.
