Professionalism, Leadership, and Advocacy – The competent teacher is an ethical and reflective practitioner who exhibits professionalism; provides leadership in the learning community; and advocates for students, parents or guardians, and the profession.

Rationale: I created and conducted two teacher interviews , one interview was recorded and the other was transcribed in a word document. I reflected on the interviews and grasped much information making it a meaningful and professional growth experience.

Standard Connection: Standard nine calls for educators to be reflective and exhibit professionalism. I was able to advocate for both goals through the interviews I conducted.

Self-Evaluation: Learning from other educators and having their insight in the profession is always a positive learning experience for me , one I can reflect on and grasp from. I am a firm believer of positive critique and a life long learner that grasp as much as possible from other veteran educators.
