Collaborative Relationships – The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. This teacher works as a team member with professional colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members.
Rationale:
I created two artifacts , one artifact is a pediatric asthma informational presentation and the other a developmental delays informative presentation. I created this two informational slides because in most classroom there are children with different important needs, some are developmental and other medicals. After encountering students with asthma and other developmental delays , I felt the need to foster a community based classroom/ school climate.
Standard Connection:
Standard eight calls for collaborative relationships between the teacher and colleagues, students, parents and guardians. Staying informed and informing others of students special needs forms strong collaborative relationships, therefore I created the two artifacts keeping in mind students needs and the importance of a collaborative and community based experiences for all.
Self-Evaluation:
I fount the artifacts to be bonding between the teacher and others and most important of benefit for the students. It is important that we are all aware of the students needs. For example if a child has asthma there might be different guidelines to be followed or others might not be familiar with the topic and an informational slide would be practical and of benefit for all.
