Classroom discipline
Classroom discipline
"Classroom discipline refers to the strategies a teacher uses to manage student behaviours and attitudes during instruction time" (Wahlig).
Classroom management is a key component because if a teacher uses consistent discipline strategies, he/she is likely to have a class that runs smoothly.
Having discipline in the classroom makes sure that routine is maintained, a safe learning environment is enforced and rules of the class are adhered to.
Without discipline, effective learning will not be achieved. That is why discipline has to be enforced so that the learners have meaningful teaching and learning.
