In the latter half of the semester, I primarily focused on learning the application of RStudio and completed two presentations with my team members. RStudio was a completely new application for me. By integrating RStudio with mathematics education and the classroom, I discovered that it can help students better understand and apply mathematical concepts. RStudio's data analysis and visualization capabilities offer abundant resources for mathematics education. Students can use RStudio to analyze real-world datasets and explore the application of mathematical models and statistical methods. Through visualization tools, students can transform abstract mathematical concepts into visual graphs, facilitating a more intuitive understanding and presentation of mathematical principles.
Moreover, the two group presentations also provided me with insights into how to plan a mathematics class effectively and choose appropriate tools to make the subject more engaging and interesting.
Mathematics is a beautiful discipline, and if I become a mathematics teacher in the future, I hope to create a classroom that truly inspires students' desire to explore mathematics and learn new knowledge and skills spontaneously, rather than relying solely on repetitive problem-solving and drills. While rote memorization and repetitive practice may yield high scores, they can also lead to students getting bored with mathematics.
Through this course, I have learned many practical teaching tools and how to use them at the right time, laying a solid foundation for my future career as a teacher. The knowledge and skills I gained from this course far outweigh those from another course in pedagogy, and I am grateful to the professor for choosing practical teaching tools as course content rather than vague theoretical terms.
