The duration of this course was short, but the things I learned from this course was more than I could imagine, making this study time really meaningful and unforgettable. I have learnt so many interesting e-learning tools in this course, such as Desmos, GeoGebra, R studio, Shiny app and Miro. These tools not are only very effective to help teachers like us to arrange better lessons for our students and providing them with a new learning environment that allow and encourage them to maximize their subjective initiative, but also provide our own with many opportunities for self-exploration and further study due to their powerful functions and creativity. For example, I was used to make function graphs in MATLAB, but now I have much more choice to do it according to my specific requirements. However, it is essential to remind myself that even though these tools are useful, we still need to keep considering how to effectively integrate them with knowledge to inspire our students.
In addition, I gained a lot in the process of cooperating with my group mates, there are many tasks of group form, which means we need to sit together and make some brainstorm, discuss with each other and exchange our ideas. This process often made me realize that it is not easy to finish a task perfectly and effectively only by myself because there are always some better ideas or more effective methods proposed by other members that I could not considered. Of course, sometimes I could be the person who put forward some good ideas that we adopted finally, so maybe this is the meaning of group work, I could see different ways of thinking and different understanding of things, not solely complete tasks by joint efforts, but also learn from others and then improve myself in the process.
Overall, I think the difficulty of this course is moderate for me, and the academic workload is also appropriate. It is really happy and worthwhile for me to come to HKUST and acquire knowledge that up-to-date with the times. We all need to constantly accept, learn and explore new knowledge and technology due to the rapid development of the world, which is a lifelong endeavor. I hope that I can continue to approach any new things with an open and positive attitude in the future.
