My internship was completed at Harrison-Morton Middle School, Allentown School District and supported my new role as Math Coach. Harrison-Morton is a urban school of approximately 700 students of many diversities. I completed my internship during the summer when summer school was in session creating limited access to students and teachers. This allowed me to worked closely with the schools Supervisor of Instruction and Principal. My responsibilities ranged from analyzing data, creating lists of students who need extra support, being part of the process for selecting new curriculum, to physically providing laptops for summer school classrooms. I focused on creating presentations to support teachers and students on new calculator use, the function of a math coach and curriculum support. I also had opportunities to attend trainings and meetings on curriculum and technology.
I combined all the resources I created and researched into one website for teachers. The website will assist teachers in preparing and planning for the new school year so they spend less time researching and more time focusing on the needs of their students.Â
