Form to show interest in joining the choir
Finally, if you are not sure, then feel free to come and sit in on a rehearsal
Membership fluctuates around 45 to 50, including the Musical Director and the leading musicians. It is important to bring in new members each year and this normally happens through the personal contact and recommendation of choir members often following concert appearances.
In its formative years members were drawn mainly from the mining community of clay and coal industry, but today, with a much larger catchment area and the changing way of life, the choir has members from different backgrounds and occupations. Standing shoulder to shoulder are miners, teachers, engineers, GPs, company directors, civil servants, policemen, joiners, builders, accountants, amongst others, some now in retirement but all brought together with one common interest and aim in mind, that of performing choral music to the highest possible standard.
