Well it's been quite a month for the choir. Lots of videos with food for thought and some beautiful tunes. We lost a dear friend but he will live on in our hearts and our singing. We also performed a lovely concert and raised over £400 for The Burton Prostate Cancer Support Group.
We hope we have reached out to men and their women to think about men's health and what can be done to improve it.
Dave Wright, choir secretary, is here to have the final say. In his wisdom, which is not necessarily the Norm, he is not a fool and he gives good advice!

Clive Walton joined originally in the baritone section but over the last year he has moved to the bass section where we have been short on numbers. He has a lovely voice as you can hear. He was somewhat plastered on the video on account that he works as a plasterer!

Jason Willock joined the choir a couple of years ago and sings in the bass section. He is often accompanied by his Guide Dog, Dale, who sometimes joins in rehearsals, providing percussion by shaking his collar!

Peter Langley sings in the second tenor section and has been with the choir around 10 years. He is an active member of the choir. He is Choir Librarian, in charge of all our music and he also who arranges our regular Breakfast Club get togethers where we like to sing a song or two!

Rob Baines sings in the first tenor section having joined the choir just a few years ago. He has organised 2 well received charity concerts at Barwell in the last couple of years. The Hills are alive with the sound of music!

Karl Harper has been the Musical Director of the choir for 31 years. He joined the choir in the 1970s originally singing in the bass section. His solos are something to behold. The way he teaches us new pieces is like they just fall into place. He makes it feel easier than it would otherwise be.

Terry Jones joined the choir around 13 years ago and continues to contribute significantly. He sings in the second tenors and he is also a soloist. Outside of the choir he sings with "Five in Harmony".

An introduction from our Chairman John Addison
Based in South Derbyshire, England, the Choir takes its name from the "Gresley Primitive Methodist Church", where the choir was born with 13 singers on the "Men's Sunday" in 1904. The choir has over 40 members and fulfils on average 22 engagements a year. We sing the best of modern and traditional TTBB music. We are a friendly bunch of gents and are keen to recruit new members.
We firmly believe that singing has enhanced our lives by improving mental and physical wellbeing. We have two choristers in their 90s and one member has been with the choir for 65 years.
