Hosting tournaments is one of our main fundraisers. If you've ever been to a wrestling tournament, you know it takes a lot of help to run a tournament smoothly.
We ask each wrestler family to volunteer ONE shift for EACH tournament we host. Each shift is 2 hours. We typically host two - three tournaments each season. This ends up being 6 total hours of your time for the whole season.
Parents are needed to help setup mats & tables, run scoring tables, work concessions & admissions, help tear down mats at end of day, etc. All the money we raise goes right back into the organization to help with advertising fees, Keystone League fees, referee fees, janitor fees, EMT fees, mat supplies, med supplies, banquet gifts/awards and food, etc.
At sign ups all families are required to provide a $100 volunteer deposit check. We do not cash that check; we hold it until the end of the season and return the check to you once your volunteer requirement is met. It is the parents responsibility to sign in for their shift at the concession stand to ensure that there is an accurate record of your completed volunteer time.
Note: Food/concession donations for events do not count toward the volunteer requirement but, of course they are appreciated.
