Experimentation, sketchbook scans, and final artwork planning for Block 4: XD
Original storyboard for an animation that never came to fruition. Unused dialogue: "I think I heard something coming for us... we should get to safety. / A beautiful sunset. Nothing much / I don't like reflecting. there'd be too much to regret otherwise."
Composition studies of oil rigs, notes on submechanophobia and paranoia.
Accompanied by a quote from my dream journal: "we're at some sort of abandoned oil station / it's extremely rusty and orange / there's lots of metal / basically everything is made of metal"
Draft quotes: "you look like shit. / you are living in a simulation. none of your relationships are real. are you real? / look at this sunset. why aren't you making money? where are you going with your life? do your parents- no, they probably don't even care. / you're the reason for your parents' divorce. / all your friends are pretending to like you. they only *tolerate* you."
Monochromatic storyboard in watercolour and crayon.
These stills are so rustic and "scratchy" - I want to extend them in the future.
Drafted pamphlet that I scrapped because I wanted to deviate from the neatness from Part A in 'Motivational Poster Series'. IT would have been interesting to see how I continued the brochure in this manner though.
Quotes that inspired me/weren't included in the final work:
"Today's mission: when someone's walking behind you and you turn a corner, quietly sprint as fast as you can before they turn the corner so it looks like you teleported." - @freakbait on IG
"always give your money to a Nigerian prince" / "always use water to extinguish oil fires" / "put foil in the microwave" / "gamble your savings away" / "smoke cigarettes" / "your employer can't exploit you in you are utterly useless"
