I carved Styrofoam to create a base shape to which I applied plaster to completely cover it. I used skewers to attach a "beak" and "wing".
(Group work) We recreated Cinderella's glass slipper with glass vials and beads to give the sculpture more surfaces to reflect light off of. Using two phone flashlights, we took dramatic photos of the slipper and recorded a video that showcased the glass reacting to the light. Seen below:
I painted cut glass pieces black and stacked them to create a fragmented, edgy sculpture. I focused on the sides of the glass, looking at the design created by the layered glass. The areas where I didn't cut the glass smoothly created ripples in the side of the glass that the black paint seeped into.
