- Met with our advisor to kick off the project.
- Introduced ourselves and shared:
- Backgrounds
- Skills
- Interests
- Departments
- Received orientation on the general concepts of IETP.
- Created a Telegram group for communication.
- This was a vital step in establishing a strong foundation for teamwork and collaboration.
Brainstorming Sessions to Explore Project Ideas:
- Held multiple brainstorming sessions to discuss and share six project ideas in a Telegram group.
- Conducted an anonymous poll to vote on the ideas.
Research and Information Gathering:
- Narrowed down to three potential project ideas:
1. Medication Dispensing IoT System
2. Long Lasting Tomato Powder Production and Machine
3. Smart Adaptive Parking System
- Conducted thorough research on the shortlisted ideas.
- Assigned specific topics to each team member to gather detailed information, review existing literature, and examine case studies.
- Identified essential components and specific objectives necessary to achieve project goals.
- Focused on defining the specific problems our initiative aims to address.
Advisor Meeting:
- Met with our advisor in week 2 to present the three ideas.
- Received guidance in selecting the best idea, which was the tomato powder production project due to its inclusivity across departments and alignment with SDG goals.
This week, our group held a productive meeting to start preparing our project proposal.
- Organized tasks and determined the structure of the proposal.
- Assigned responsibilities among team members.
- I was tasked with researching and writing about the significance of the project.
- Conducted research and compiled my findings, drafting my sections.
- Prepared a Word document summarizing my findings for the group.
- This marked my first contribution to the proposal, establishing a strong foundation for our project's narrative and emphasizing its significance.
After submitting our project proposal to our advisor, we received valuable feedback identifying areas for improvement.
- Our team convened to discuss his comments and the necessary revisions.
- Each member worked diligently on their sections, incorporating the suggested changes to improve clarity and coherence.
- We carefully edited the document to address all feedback, ensuring a well-defined and compelling project narrative.
- Once revisions were complete, we sent the updated sections to our group leader for compilation into a cohesive final draft.
- After a thorough final review to ensure everything was polished and aligned, our group leader submitted the proposal as our final submission.
This week, we met with our advisor to provide an update on our progress and discuss our next steps.
- After the meeting, we regrouped to conduct the tomato powder experiment in the lab.
- One team member reached out to our advisor to secure an authorization letter for lab and workshop access.
- With the authorization letter, we obtained the necessary access to proceed with our experiment.
- While half of the team focused on the tomato powder experiment, the other half worked on 3D design and modeling using advanced software.
- This dual approach enabled us to make significant progress in both practical and digital aspects of our project.
- The team working on the 3D models developed detailed designs that were crucial for the execution of our project.
- Our group engaged in a thorough discussion about acquiring the necessary materials for our project, evaluating their effectiveness and suitability.
- The electrical and mechanical team members performed a comprehensive cost analysis.
- They presented the budget breakdown to our advisor through our representative.
- After reviewing and approving the proposal, our advisor facilitated the transfer of funds to our group.
- This funding enabled us to proceed with procuring materials, ensuring we are well-prepared to advance the project efficiently.
We started building our prototype while simultaneously working to acquire the remaining materials needed for our project.
-My group members Faced challenges with cutting the sheet metal and RHS, which required help from senior students and took longer than expected.
- Despite these difficulties, we made progress as the preparation of dried tomatoes in the lab was successfully completed.
I was tasked with making a video presentation for the final evaluation day
-All of us gathered in a workspace to check and record what we did
-We informed our advisor about our successful result and held a meeting
-We were preparing for the evaluation
