These are common misperceptions about reading that sometimes impede interest in reading for pleasure.
Challenging misperceptions about reading could help break down the mental barriers students might have about reading. They could also help students/parents/colleagues shift their mindset about what reading entails and how we can all find something we enjoy reading.
This could be something shared with colleagues and students (or even parents) at the start of the school year, as a way to kickstart programmes to do with reading for pleasure.
This could be sent through email/uploaded as myth-busters to colleagues or students after a quick online poll is conducted using the myths. It could also be printed out as posters to be put up around school
