Global Shared Reading Opportunity
Fiction helps us see others with empathy and understanding; a shared reading experience online builds empathy, gives students the opportunity to see the perspective of others and leverages technology for connection and learning. Inspired by Pernille Ripp's Global Read Aloud, learn about how we created a high school book club using social media and Microsoft Flip, and how you can replicate this idea in your own school or community for middle and high school students.

About Kern Kelley
How often do students witness educators learn? An effective method of learning a topic is to teach it to others. I will share best practices, resources and techniques on how to build a team of students to provide support for other educators. It is our role to provide opportunities for our students to share, support and encourage their teachers about topics they can help with. For my students, problems that technology can bring has become the vehicle for them to build their presentation skills and connect with their teachers. I model this educational philosophy by bringing my student presenters to sessions, conferences and workshops around the world. The students learn by teaching, and teachers learn by listening.
