A Missionary Spirit and Attention to Contextual Realities
Dear Friends,
We pray this finds you all well. Thank you for your support of the ministry to families that Venerable Patrick Peyton founded.
In our last publication of the Global Newsletter, I shared the two guiding principles of “renewal of our founding trust in the power of prayer” and the need to “re-center the Rosary as our organizing principle.” In this edition, I share with you the need to rekindle our missionary spirit to families and the need to give closer attention to the contextual realities of families.

Living the Mysteries of the Rosary with Families
Dear HCFM Global Newsletter readers,
We are thrilled to present the 13th issue of the Global World at Prayer Newsletter, focusing on the theme of "Living the Mysteries of the Rosary with Families." Family bonds are crucial for strength and support in today's fast-paced world. One powerful way to strengthen these bonds is through the practice of the Family Rosary. In this newsletter, you will discover inspiring stories of how our Ministry Centers bring the mysteries of the Rosary to life within families.

The Mysteries of the Rosary truly proclaim the awesome works of God! As we meditate upon each, we attend what Saint John Paul II referred to as the “School of Mary.” Each mystery reveals something about Jesus, His salvific works, and how we can be better disciples. Family Rosary USA is working to provide a series of reflections on each Mysteries, beginning with the Joyful Mysteries. Those reflections may be enjoyed here: World at Prayer blog from Family Rosary - Reflections of Family and Faith | Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.
Family Rosary is a powerful weapon that can be used to fight against temptation which we face in the family. Meditating on the Glorious Mysteries as a community on the evening of May 31, 2023, Journeying with our Blessed Mother on the Joy of the Resurrection of our Lord and the Descent of the Holy Holy Spirit, clearly shows that our God is a loving God who is always close to us. He doesn't look at our ability, but he looks at our availability to spend time praying the Rosary as a family. - Holy Cross Family Ministries, Northeast India

No Prayer Quite Like It
In 1979 Father Peyton wrote an article in response to a request from Our Family, Canada’s Catholic Family Monthly Magazine. In this excerpt, he reveals his belief that the Rosary is a way of prayer like no other and explains the benefits of praying it as a family together.

The Rosary is so much more than just an object, decoration or symbol. It’s a powerful prayer.
We often see Rosaries in the world, whether hanging from cars’ rearview mirrors, around people’s necks, or used in movies, but what is the Rosary, really?
It’s the life of Christ, seen through the eyes of his mother, Mary – using Scripture and familiar prayers. And, as saints have told us, it’s our greatest spiritual weapon in the battle against evil and darkness.
“The Rosary” episode of “Catholic Central,” from Family Theater Productions, emphasizes the Rosary’s purpose and role in daily life. In addition, “Catholic Central” has individual videos in which co-hosts Kai and Libby pray each of the Rosary Mysteries.
Recently, FTP’s National Director, Father David Guffey, C.S.C., partnered with Sony Pictures to bless 100,000 Rosaries to be distributed to filmgoers at showings of “The Pope’s Exorcist.”
James P. Kelly
The prayers and generosity of our benefactors are helping to make countless families healthy, holy, and happy. Together we advance the mission of Holy Cross Family Ministries in opening the hearts of others to experience the joy and beauty of homes warmed by the love and goodness of God Himself through family prayer.
Holy Cross Family Ministries offers our deepest condolences to the family of James “Jimmy” P. Kelly, a beloved friend and supporter of our ministry, who passed away in April. He was a man of great faith, and all who had the pleasure of knowing James knew he always carried a Rosary. In the early 1990s, when Father Peyton needed help with his “Rosaries for Russia” campaign, James worked tirelessly to secure one million Rosaries for families. This global Rosary campaign continues today as our Rosaries for the World program, which provides Rosaries to families across the globe, continuing Father Peyton’s message of “The family that prays together stays together.” Please join us in praying for the eternal rest of James Kelly.

Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., possessed a firm conviction that God had healed him from tuberculosis with the aid of Our Blessed Mother’s intercession when he was gravely ill as a seminarian. In response to this miraculous turn of events, Father Peyton sought to repay the Blessed Mother for her assistance in this Divine healing. What followed was a mission to families around the world that would change the lives of countless people and their families.
We are blessed at Catholic Mom to honor the Blessed Mother daily, but this Mother’s Day, we were able to celebrate her in a unique way.
Inspired by our founder, Venerable Patrick Peyton, the Try Prayer! It Works! contest is inspired by Father Peyton’s message: "The family that prays together stays together."

Please pray for the speedy beatification and canonization of Venerable Patrick Peyton, founder, Holy Cross Family Ministries.
Dear Jesus,
Father Peyton devoted his priestly life to strengthening the families of the world by calling them to pray together every day, especially the Rosary. His message is as important for us now as it was during his life on earth.
We beg you, therefore, to hasten the day of his beatification, so that Your faithful people everywhere will remember his message that The Family That Prays Together Stays Together, will imitate him in his devotion to Your Mother and ours, and will be inspired by His holy life to draw ever closer to You with childlike confidence and love.
Amen.
