Living the Mysteries of the Rosary with Families
Fort Portal, Jinja, and Kampala, Uganda
During our Home Visitation and Peyton Prayer Guild Meetings, we encourage families to pray together as a family, especially the Rosary Prayer.
In one of our home visits, we reached out to Birungi Christine, a single Mother to a Cerebral Palsy child who was abandoned by a partner after realizing that the child had an illness.
Christine has gone through mockery from neighbors for having a child with a disability (Jesus is crowned with thorns) and has accepted to carry her cross as a parent and take care of her son Damian (Jesus carries the cross).
We encouraged her to pray the Holy Rosary for strength and providence together with her son every time we visited them during follow-ups.
After fervently praying, Christine got sponsors who provided a wheelchair for Damian and are taking care of their family's needs.
‘’I dedicate my life and that of my son to praying the Holy Rosary and always seeking the intercession of a great Mother Mary who inspired me to be strong and bear the pain just like the way she was while Jesus was dying on the cross…..noted Christine during one of a follow –up visit.
Also, during the Peyton prayer guild meetings, families pray the Holy Rosary, meditate, and reflect on the mysteries of the Rosary, most especially the Joyful Mysteries, which gives them hope that no matter the challenges they encounter, the Lord will answer their prayers.
Whenever we pray the Rosary, we find solutions to the challenges we face in our family because we reflect on the life of our Lord daily, noted Mzee Joseph, after the Peyton Prayer Guild meeting.
