Father Fred Jenga, C.S.C., Ph.D.
President, Holy Cross Family Ministries, was greeted by the children with an authentic bouquet of flower.
Dear Friends in Christ,
On December 24th, the Holy Father opened the doors of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, initiating the long-anticipated Year of Jubilee for which we have spent the last year preparing ourselves in prayer. Having gone into our “inner room” to commune with the Lord, we go now with confidence to celebrate a time of renewed faith, hope, and love.
Jubilee Years have historically been times of both conversion and celebration, as the people of God turn their hearts to the Lord so that they may be enveloped by His mercy, transformed by His holiness, and caught up into the great joy of His love. This Jubilee Year offers us a unique opportunity to grow in our spiritual lives and unite ourselves evermore to the universal Church, which as a “pilgrim of hope” marches home to the Father’s embrace.
In the moving contributions of this World at Prayer Newsletter, we see clearly God’s power to bring transformative growth and unity to our families and communities through prayer. I pray that these moments of grace will inspire you and your families to begin this “year of the Lord’s favor” with every confidence in His love and mercy.
In Christ,
Rev. Fred Jenga, C.S.C.

Let's pray for the speedy beatification and canonization of Venerable Patrick Peyton,
Dear Jesus,
Father Peyton devoted his priestly life to strengthening the families of the world by calling them to pray together every day, especially the Rosary. His message is as important for us now as it was during his life on earth.
We beg you, therefore, to hasten the day of his beatification, so that Your faithful people everywhere will remember his message that The Family That Prays Together Stays Together, will imitate him in his devotion to Your Mother and ours, and will be inspired by His holy life to draw ever closer to You with childlike confidence and love. Amen.
