“I can now surely testify that it was God who directed me to this place! I had never thought, even for a single day, that I would need help from… people like you. I must confess I’ve been a proud person. But God humbled me because all the people whom I thought could reconcile me with my husband or at least offer a legal solution all labored in vain. In each attempt, they were hitting a hard rock. One time, full of tears, I decided to share what I was going through with a friend of mine, Ms. Suzan from Wanyange. She then asked if I would be willing to come and share with the members at Holy Cross Family Ministries. At first, I was hesitant because everyone I thought could help had already failed. Additionally, knowing the person I was dealing with, I didn’t think he would accept coming here or even listening to anyone he doesn’t trust. My other fear was that he would think I was telling everyone about our issues, which I feared would only make matters worse. But when Ms. Suzan insisted and asked me to give it a try, I decided to come.
To cut the long story short, when I came and shared with the people assigned to journey with me, the way they talked to me changed my attitude all of a sudden. The same thing happened to my husband when they invited him to the office. He was very open, and this openness from both of us—which had never happened before—led to our reconciliation, which I never thought possible. God is great. There is nothing He cannot do, absolutely nothing! My husband had even confessed that this was a done deal; he had already gotten another wife and rented her a house in Busia at the border.”
