Each year, hundreds of young people across the globe participate in the Try Prayer! It Works! Contest and discover the gift of family prayer. Family Rosary hopes that the upcoming contest theme will help students understand God’s vision for the family and will inspire families to strive to pattern their own lives after the home at Nazareth. Reflecting on the prompt, conversing about the discussing questions, and turning to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph for guidance and support will enable families to engage more deeply in their faith and strive for mutual charity. This, in turn, will transform them into the domestic churches that God created them to be.
Saint John Paul II, in his apostolic exhortation Familiaris Consortio, wrote, “The family has the mission to guard, reveal and communicate love, and this is a living reflection of and a real sharing in God's love for humanity and the love of Christ the Lord for the Church His bride.” Our prayer for the students and families who participate in this year’s Try Prayer! It Works! Contest is that they will be equipped to carry out this mission, and thus become schools of holiness for each other and signs God’s presence for everyone they encounter.
