Jinja, Uganda
A person once said, “When we work, we work, but when we pray, God works!”. I came to appreciate this statement when it became a reality in our concrete situation here in our ministry Centre-Jinja. One time, we were faced with a situation that needed not human wisdom or abilities but divine intervention. One of our staff was to leave the team and yet the team strongly felt the need to retain this person on the team. Humanly speaking it was easier to climb and get to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in an hour than reversing a decision that had been made to that effect. This had been exacerbated by the circumstances surrounding the situation! Yes, it was so hard or even impossible with human efforts, intellect, and endeavors, but surely not so with God. Having realized our powerlessness and limitedness, the team then resorted to turning to God in prayer.
Persistent faith-filled prayer made God work, removing all the obstacles and making it possible for the said member to remain on the team. The team is now intact, thanks be to God. Before we trust in our own strength, abilities, and wisdom, let’s always try prayer, or do at least both simultaneously. It will save us time and effort but also help us discover the power of prayer and experience unexplainable fulfillment!
Where there is prayer, there is life, and the reverse is true.
