Leading with Prayer: Seeds of Wisdom from Our Branches
The foundation of every endeavor, much like constructing a building, begins with meticulous planning and unseen groundwork. In our leadership team, prayer serves as the cornerstone of our efforts. While the initial stages may not appear grand or impressive to the casual observer, they lay the essential framework upon which our success is built.
In my approach to leadership, I prioritize seeking divine guidance and committing our endeavors to the Lord. This ensures that we place the most important aspect first—aligning our plans with His will. With this assurance, I move forward fearlessly, knowing that regardless of the outcome, we are in partnership with the Almighty.
Recently, when faced with the daunting task of organizing a Marian Quiz for Catholic Schools, we encountered bureaucratic hurdles that seemed insurmountable. Unsure of where to begin or whom to approach, our group turned to prayer, seeking intercession from Our Lady. Miraculously, doors began to open, starting with the Regional Director of Education who not only provided guidance but also lent his support to our cause. What seemed like an impossible feat was made possible through divine intervention and the assistance of kind-hearted individuals along the way.
As we reflect on this experience, we are reminded of the wisdom found in the constitution of Holy Cross, which teaches us that God's thoughts are not always our own, but through prayerful discernment, we can come to understand His will. Our journey to organize the Marian Quiz has not only been a lesson in perseverance but also a testament to the power of prayer and divine providence in guiding our endeavors.
Prayer in Action: Blossoming in the Field
A young lady in our Catholic Charismatic Renewal prayer group, who completed her HND, was seeking a job while her colleagues found employment through questionable means. She chose to remain faithful to God and persist in prayer. One day, the CEO of a reputable organization approached our Coordinator, seeking a reliable, diligent, and God-fearing candidate. He specifically wanted someone from the Catholic Charismatic Renewal group. The young lady was recommended and instantly, without an interview, she received the job with excellent remuneration and conditions. This experience has deepened the faith of our members and attracted others to the ministry, reinforcing their belief in the power of prayer.
The Quiet Garden: Whispers of Transformation
In our school community, the recent departure of a staff member serves as a poignant reminder that not all that appears promising holds true value. Despite her voluntary decision to leave, she now directs blame towards us for not deterring her exit. Amidst her grievances and negative sentiments, I've come to the realization that reasoning with her current state of mind may be futile.
In seeking solace, I've turned to contemplative prayer, drawing inspiration from the quiet introspection of Mother Mary. This spiritual practice allows me to reflect deeply on these unfolding events and find peace within my own heart. This experience prompts a broader contemplation on why we often relinquish cherished aspects of our lives without fully understanding their significance.
Despite the challenges posed by the former staff member's departure, I've recognized my own struggle in nurturing a consistent and profound connection with God. Her situation serves as a reminder of the inward journey we all must undertake to cultivate this intimate union with God. As I navigate these complexities, I am reminded of the importance of overcoming personal obstacles that may hinder my commitment to this sacred relationship with God.
Trusting the Harvest: Seeds of Surrender and Growth
God placed a deep uneasiness on me to change the theme of a reflection I had been contemplating for a long time. It was difficult because I had many points and practical illustrations prepared. However, God helped me understand that my duty as a messenger is only to deliver His message to the people; it is entirely His work, and I am only His instrument. I surrendered and said, "God, may Your will be done." I delivered the new message with total trust in divine providence. The outcome of the program was awe-inspiring! May God's Holy Name be forever praised! Amen.
