My Rosary Story: Prayers of Love
When lovers are together, they spend hours and hours repeating the same thing: I love you! What is missing in the people who think the Rosary monotonous, is Love.... I have been a Catholic for my entire life, but it is only in the last 26 or so years that I have had a devotion to the Holy Rosary. I attended Catholic schools until seventh grade. As a teenager, I would have identified myself as Catholic, but between television and secular influences, I didn’t totally embrace my faith until after I was married. This was only because my husband insisted that we not use contraception during our marriage.

My Rosary Story: Prayer Brought Hope to My Heart
It is hard to pinpoint my first exposure to the Rosary. I remember getting a very beautiful Rosary from my mother when I was very young. It was an aurora borealis Rosary that sparkled as you held it. There was a hard case it was kept in to keep it safe. I admired it and knew it was precious and given with love by my mother. It seemed so beautiful and delicate that it was tucked safe and sound in my bedroom drawer.

My Rosary Story: Prayers Change Us
During one of those wake-ups, my husband in one room with the baby, and my cradling the toddler in another, I began to pray yet another Rosary. It has become my go-to prayer these days. My husband and I pray it together, we pray it while our kids play nearby, rarely joining in, but usually quieting.

Each of these is a very real threat in our lives today; and yet, each of these evils has seen its destructive power rendered useless in the face of those praying the Rosary!... In our fight against evil, it is easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged when the darkness seems to be getting only deeper and its powers more forceful… That is why it’s so important to recall the mighty power of our God and prayer; and realize again, or for the first time, the immense power we have within our grasp!
