Nano-Magnetism & Spin Waves

During the last twenty years the division Magnetism of Low-Dimensional Systems at GHOST laboratory in Perugia has carried out a through research activity concerning the magnetic properties of ultra-thin films, multilayers and patterned micro- and nano-structures. Brillouin Light Scatternig (BLS) from spin waves and Surface Magneto Optic Kerr Effect (SMOKE) are the main techniques exploited by our group. Both techniques are implemented both ex-situ and in-situ in an Ultra High Vacuum preparation chamber.
