Our research lab tried to be focused on studying phenotypic variation in the South Asian population, particularly related to pigmentation patterns in human skin, hair, and eye colors. our interest in understanding how different pigmentary genes contribute to these variations and exploring pigmentation-related disorders. Additionally, our lab is interested in investigating the phenotypic composition of individuals living at different elevations in the Ladakh region to understand better how physiological and genetic adaptations might have occurred in response to varying environmental conditions. Moreover, our research encompasses the study of genetic variants associated with ordinal fingerprint patterns, which might have implications for forensic science and identity verification.
