Outside of academics, I like to keep myself busy with a wide variety of activities. I really enjoy drawing and painting using references, and recreating other pieces of artwork and designs that I find to be captivating. I'm also a huge book lover, and I've started to read more novels and realistic fiction/nonfiction as opposed to YA dystopian and fantasy as I've done so in the past. I also enjoy reading biographies and autobiographies which always leave me feeling inspired. While my taste as changed, I alternate between multiple different genres as I pick up new books. I also enjoy watching TV shows and spending time with my friends from home. I also play the violin and have been playing in the Medical Symphony Orchestra for about a year and it's one of my favorite hobbies that provides a break from schoolwork and academics.
Throughout the Honors Program I have learned a lot about mentorship, involvement, and community as I am and representing and involved in progressing the message of the program to becoming a global citizen scholar. I hope to take more part in recruitment events and garner students' interest for the program as a whole and become more involved as a student ambassador and now as a Development Director.
As I've attended the meetings for the COM undergraduate tribunal, I am excited to take part in the various committees such as the Service and Mentor committees. I hope to become more involved in the activities of the organization and build a strong connection with other undergraduate students within the College of Medicine.
This is an organization that I truly enjoy the most. I've been playing the violin for a little over 5 years and I'm so happy to be able to pick it up again after taking a break for so long. It's nice to get to know more people and upperclassmen who also share my interest for orchestra and I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to play as a group for medical faculty, students, and patients.
I've had a great experience being a tutor for Bearcat Buddies. I've really learned the importance of patience, calmness, and encouragement, as well as understanding the significance of leadership and mentorship throughout my time tutoring younger students. As an ambassador, I hope to share my love for tutoring and encourage other students to take on the role of a mentor. I hope to continue tutoring and strengthen the importance of growth and learning.
I've had the opportunity to meet a variety of upperclassmen and work with other students who were passionate in the organization's cause of supporting the organization SAW. Throughout my time, I've done tabling and attended other service projects/events and I hope to become more involved in the organization's efforts.
