"De Kaurava's vormden een groep van honderd broers; ook zij baseerden hun macht op lichaamskracht, op geld en op de militaire macht die zij vormden, samen met verschillende koningen met wie zij een bondgenootschap hadden. Uiteindelijk lieten alle broers het leven in de oorlog die ze zelf hadden ontketend. Er bleef niet één zoon over om de begrafenisriten voor de ouders te verzorgen toen deze stierven. Wat een vreselijk lot! In plaats dat zij God's hulp inriepen, zochten Duryodhana en de andere gebroeder Kaurava hun heil in lichaamskracht, in geld en in macht van mensen. De gebroeders Pandava daarentegen gaven zich geheel over aan Krishna en vroegen slecht om Zijn genade."

Instead of calling on God's help, Duryodhana and the other Kaurava brothers sought refuge in physical strength, money, and the power of people. The Pandava brothers, on the other hand, surrendered themselves entirely to Krishna and only asked for His grace."

Swami: Chidabhasa betekent het ‘ik’-bewustzijn, geconditioneerd door het bewustzijn (chit) dat Eén drie werd, de drie vijf, de vijf velen werden. Het ‘ik’-bewustzijn (zuiverheid, sathwa) werd drie vanwege contact met hartstocht (rajas) en onwetendheid (thamas); in deze drie ontstonden de vijf elementen (bhutha's); en via die vijf gebeurde het veelvuldige. Dit veroorzaakt de illusie dat het ‘ik’ het lichaam is. Sprekend in termen van ether (akasa), zijn er drie: chidakasa, chitthakasa en bhuthakasa.
