Work Experience
Each participant may have only one (1) GDYT work experience per summer. Participants will only be paid for the hours worked or benchmarks completed up to the maximum allowed by the GDYT program.
Only complete the timesheet if you are being paid an hourly wage. If you are completing benchmarks you do not need to submit a timesheet. If you are unsure if you are being paid for hours worked or for benchmarks please ask your supervisor.
You may be wondering how you can access your pay stubs for the summer.
If you are paid by CONNECT DETROIT:
An access code and instructions will be sent to your email in July. You will use this code to set up your account in the ADP payroll system and retrieve your pay stubs. Once the code is sent you will have 14 days to activate your account before it expires.
If you do not set up your account before the link expires you will need to contact us via email at gdyt@connectdetroit.org to request a new code.
If you are a returning participant and have previously set up an account in ADP, you will need to go to https://workforcenow.adp.com to login. If you forgot your password you can use the "Forgot Password" link.

If you are paid by DESC:
Grow Detroit’s Young Talent is pleased to share that GDYT participants may select their preferred pay method for their summer work experience.
GDYT participants may select to be paid by a GDYT issued pay card; opening a new, safe, non-custodial bank account with Diversified Members Credit Union; an existing bank account; or by paper check.

GDYT participants under the administration of Connect Detroit will receive their pay on the Focus Card which is a Visa prepaid debit card. To reach Card Holder Services for the Focus Card call 877-474-0010.
GDYT participants under the administration of DESC will receive their pay on the Rapid! paycard. If you have issues, you should call the GDYT Call Center at 313-664-5575 or reach out to your Worksite Monitor.
GDYT follows a bi-weekly payroll schedule. Please note that Connect Detroit and DESC participants have a separate payroll schedule. Junior Police Cadets are under DESC.
Payroll Issues
If you have issues with your pay please notify your GDYT Partner Agency or Worksite Monitor and they will work with the GDYT office to take care of the issue. If you are a Cadet, please notify your supervisor. While we will work to take care of the issue as soon as possible, you should expect to have a resolution no later than the Tuesday following payday.
