UNIFORMS

Most uniform items are available from our studio boutique. Our studio boutique is open for uniform sales & fittings on Fridays 9.15 - 11.15am & Saturdays 9am - 11:30am only. Pease do not ask to purchase items outside of this time. If this time does not suit, you can easily and conveniently order online. 

You can easily order and pay via our secure ordering site and the items will be distributed to your child in class the following week (unless the item needs to be ordered) Simply visit our website www.glenbrookballet.com.au and click on the "Shopping Cart" Icon in the top right corner to be taken to the ordering portal.

We have the full range of uniform leotards, dance dresses, stockings, socks, skirts, hair accessories, shorts, singlets, warmups and tracksuits, ballet shoes, Jazz Shoes & Character Shoes. Other shoes are available from Bloch (Rouse Hill) or Centre Stage Dancewear (Seven Hills)

All returning students are expected to be in full uniform & correct grooming. Full uniform is not required for new students until week 3 of term to ensure you and your child/ren are happy and settled. However, after this correct uniform & grooming should be worn for each class. 

We feel that correct uniforms and grooming are an important part of dance because: 

• Uniforms encourage focus – While our classes are fun, a certain level of focus and self-discipline is required to ensure all students receive a high standard of teaching. Uniforms are a gentle reminder that when students are in the studio, they are there to learn and focus.

• Uniforms are practical – Dance attire enables the teacher to see all the students movement to ensure they are training safely and correctly. 

• Uniforms create unity – We pride ourselves on being a school where all our students feel safe, accepted and part of a community. Uniforms ensure all students can present themselves in the same manner.

• Uniforms mean it’s time to dance! – Putting on a uniform helps the students switch into dance mode. A tidy uniform translates to a more focused dancer.

Any student NOT wearing the correct uniform or grooming (this means NEAT and secure ballet buns for ballet classes or a neat Pony Tail for alternate styles) will be reminded in class. Any student who, after reminders, continually attends class without correct uniform may be excluded from that class as it is disrespectful to the teacher and other students.

ADULTS / SILVER SWANS CLASSES

There is no set uniform requirement for these classes. - Feel free to wear whatever you can comfortably move in. Activewear, track pants, shorts and t-shirt, leotard and tights - whatever you feel fabulous in!  We do have Silver Swans T-shirts and GBT T-shirts & Leggings available for purchase via the studio Boutique

For Ballet & Silver Swans - Ballet shoes are recommended  and are available for sale through the studio boutique or dance wear stores. Socks or bare feet are also acceptable - however ballet shoes are encouraged. 

SHOES

A range of ballet shoes are available to purchase in the studio boutique. 

• All Ballet Classes:  Canvas (Pre-Prim +) or leather (Petite & LaunchPad) Ballet Shoes,   Inter - Adv 2 must have demi-pointes for all syllabus classes.

• Character Shoes:  Junior 1 & 2:  low heel canvas, Mid 1, Mid 3 & Grade 6 - cuban heel canvas, 

• Jazz:  Black elastic side, split sole 

• Tap shoes:  Pre-Jnr Tap: Black velcro buckle tap shoes.   Jnr - Snr Tap: Black slip on or lace up Tap shoes

Pointe/Demi-Poine & Tap shoes are available at Bloch (Rouse Hill, City) All other shoes are available from the Studio Boutique

HOSIERY

• Female students should generally wear theatrical pink, convertible ballet stockings. Students with darker complexions may choose to wear convertible ballet tights to match their skin tone if desired. 

• Female students from Petite 1 - Junior 2 may wear flesh ballet socks if preferred. 

• Boys may wear either black or white dance socks. 

All Cygnets, GBTA, Soloists and Performance Group students must have a studio jacket & track pants/jumpsuit to wear to performances. Other students may purchase a GBT tracksuit if they wish.
