By enrolling yourself or your child/ren at Glenbrook Ballet Theatre, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by all of the terms, conditions and policies referred to below.
I give permission for relevant medical attention to be administered to my child/myself if the need should arise.
Fees will be deducted on the first Friday of each term via "EziDebit".
I agree to pay all fees owed to Glenbrook Ballet Theatre by the end of week 1 of each term and understand a late fee of $15 will be payable on outstanding accounts after week 2.
Missed direct debit payments will attract an Ezidebit dishonour fee - this is set by Ezidebit and not by Glenbrook Ballet Theatre.
Missed payments will be re-debited the following Friday.
Direct debit terms are set out in Ezidebit’s direct debit form.
All fees are inclusive of GST.
In the event of a mandated closure - classes will move to a live online format via "Zoom". No refunds or credits will be issued in this case.
I understand that notice of withdrawal of enrolment must be given via email, at least two (2) weeks prior to the end of a term. Failure to do so will result in fees still being charged for all/part of the proceeding term.
I understand that the Concert package fee will be charged to my Term 3 invoice unless I have notified in writing that my child won't be participating in the concert.
I understand that if I withdraw enrolment after committing to either concert (once Term 3 invoices have been processed) any concert fees paid will be forfeited.
I understand that permission to video myself/my child in the end of year concert is mandatory for enrolment. This video will only be made available to GBT students and their families.
I understand that by enrolling at Glenbrook Ballet Theatre I am giving permission for my child to be photographed/videoed in class and displayed on GBT's closed, family only Facebook Group. Additional photo permissions apply for photos and videos to be used for promotional purposes.
I understand that if myself/my child is joining Cygnets, CEP or GBTA, they must commit to exemplary attendance. Repeated missed classes may result in a dancer being removed from the choreography or class. I also understand that by joining one of these programs, I give permission for my/my child's photo to be used for any display or promotional purposes.
I understand that the principal shall make the final decision regarding the readiness of myself/ my child to be entered for exams/class awards or to progress to the next level.
I understand that by enrolling at Glenbrook Ballet Theatre I am also agreeing to abide by the conditions as outlined in the Studio Policies & Procedures document and the studio handbook. (Provided upon enrolment)
FURTHER INFORMATION
Please ensure that an enrolment form has been filled out for each student. This is to ensure we have correct details of all students in case of emergency and for the purposes of invoicing. Please also ensure that the registration fee has been paid with each enrolment form. This non- refundable registration fee reserves a place in class and covers facility & administration costs.
Newsletters are distributed usually twice per term to ensure everyone is kept up to date with all the latest news and events. Invoices for fees are usually emailed before or during the school holidays preceding the new term. For this reason, please ensure the email address on your/your child’s enrolment form is correct and up to date.
Silver Swans and Adults classes operate on a "Class Pass" System. 5 or 10 Class Passes can be purchased at the start of the year and used during 2025. Passes are only valid during the calendar year in which they are purchased. When you have attended the number of classes allocated to your pass, you will be automatically invoiced for the purchase of a new class pass.
We encourage all parents to be involved with their child’s dance education and new parents are welcome to watch their child’s class for the first two (2) weeks of their first term to ensure they are settled and happy. After this we ask that parents wait outside or leave and return for their child. We understand that you/your child may feel nervous about being in a new environment without a parent/carer - however we have found that students who are encouraged to enter the studio without a parent/carer become much more confident and responsible more quickly. If you have any concerns about this, please chat with Miss Jessie or your child's class teacher.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of each lesson. This ensures that there is sufficient time to be ready for the start of class. Continual lateness is not acceptable, as it is not only disruptive to the class but if a student is late, they may miss out on warming up correctly. It is in the student’s best interest to be punctual. Parents of young students, please ensure you take your children to the toilet before class.
It is important for parents to be aware that while dance is a physical activity that carries some risk of injury, all teaching at Glenbrook Ballet Theatre is based on safe dance technique, and all teaching staff are trained to deal with common accidents and injuries. Please advise the school if your child is ill or injured and will miss a lesson. If your child is recovering from an illness or injury, they may observe their class and should only participate as able. If your child has any medical problems relevant to their dancing, please inform the office and ensure a medical action plan has been completed.
We genuinely believe that Glenbrook Ballet Theatre offers the highest quality dance tuition to our students. As part of this tuition we include carefully designed class and individual programs based on dance & performance technique, strength and flexibility training, advice from medical professionals such as dance specialist physiotherapists and educational/sports psychologists. If there is ever a situation where we feel we cannot adequately cater to a students dance needs or we feel the student would benefit from additional training, we will happily recommend appropriate options from our network of preferred providers.
While we are very happy to support our students auditioning for external dance performances (eg: school dance companies, Schools Spectacular etc.), we do appreciate notification of intent to audition and are more than happy to offer advice on the audition process. Please consider any prior commitments to GBT events before taking on extra dance opportunities. We also love to hear about the results of the auditions and are willing to meet with parents and students to discuss auditions.
Please do not use the driveway to drop off or pick up your child. The driveway is not only shared between several other properties, it is also dangerous to have cars reversing in and out with children walking into the studio. There is plenty of parking available nearby.
It is also not appropriate for students/siblings to play, stand or sit on the driveway or ramp. It is a condition of our lease that children do not enter the carport area at the back of the studio.
Please also ensure that students cover up with at least a jacket or shirt over their dance wear when coming or going to the studio. Please ensure dance shoes are covered or not worn outside the studio.
Glenbrook Ballet Theatre adheres to the Ausdance, Australian Guidelines For Dance Teachers, the Australian Dance Vision Code of Safe Dance Practices and the RAD Code of Conduct and Professional Practice at all times. 1. Use appropriate teaching methods
2. Use effective assessment and reporting procedures (where appropriate)
3. Maintain expertise
4. Encourage artistic endeavour

10. Demonstrate professional integrity

The Principal is very happy to sit down with students and parents to discuss the career paths a dancer can take using their dance knowledge. Appointments to discuss this are best arranged through the office.
Dancing is a physical skill. In order to help and facilitate the student’s learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be in a professional manner and the intention of the contact will be made clear. If you have any issues regarding this please see Miss Jessie.
