Twee: A great assistant
Twee: A great assistant
Twee is like having a robot that helps you create exercises, texts, handouts and even lessons faster. You can use it with YouTube videos and even transform images into text (Edwards, 2024).
How does Twee work? Basically, it uses smart AI to help in your activity creation for your classes in a second.
One of the features is that Twee works with pedagogical aims. It has been developed with an educational approach and thus it is a great contribution for teachers to meet their learning objectives (Forward 2025).
We will explore below one of the many uses it has. I’ll leave a link of the official YouTube channel so you can check all the possibilities it has.
Let’s see something we have all had to do in our classes. Do you need a contextualized text to practice vocabulary? Do you need a short story about a kid’s holiday to work on past simple and past continuous? Type it and you will get it.
After you’ve written the text make some adjustments like age, English level, type of text (article, story, review, formal/informal emails, etc), number of words, etc.
Then if you need your students to check the understanding of the text, you are one click away from creating necessary exercises.
You can also use Twee to:
• Plan lessons faster.
• Make cool worksheets for different skills.
• Even make quick plans for when a substitute teacher has to take over.
• Create different activities for students who learn at different speeds.
• Make quizzes and tests more easily.
Some cons:
Mostly for English: if you teach other languages too, it might not be as helpful (FuturePedia, 2025).
Money: the free version only has 5 tasks that you can work with.
Flaws: as everything that AI does for us, it can’t replace the eye of a teacher who knows their students and easily spot problems that the AI-generated work can have.
Here you can also find a full tutorial from Twee official YouTube channel to help you explore all the tools you can apply in your planning as well as in your classrooms:
