Now we are going to use AvatarMaker as part of a plan for 2nd grade students.
The following lesson will take place in the computer lab since students will work in their own computers but later on they will need to show their work on the big screen to work as a whole class.

The lesson will start by watching to the following video and making students play a game in WordWall matching parts of the body and the words. This will allow them to be introduced to the necessary vocabulary, which they will practice by play a game on WordWall.
Fortunately, the school is specialized in 21st century technologies and every student has their own computer.
(15 minutes) Web: Creating an Avatar
The students will work individually and they will be asked to create their own avatar. Some tutoring may be necessary, but it shouldn’t be a problem since the app is very simple and intuitive. Also the 70-inch touch screen will help the teacher show students how to go over the app. They will need to name their avatar, with their own name or creating one, or even using their pet’s name, in case they have.
T will guide students on how to use the app, focusing on the features related to the vocabulary they’ve just learned (hair, eyes, glasses, smile).

Playing "Guess Who?":
Once the avatars are created, T will ask each student to save their avatar. Then, T will display all the avatars with the names on the big screen and ask the students to sit in front of it.
T will create a Wheel Decide with the names of the avatars. Taking turns sts will click on the wheel and he/she will be the one to know who they got.
Then, the rest of the class will try to guess which Avatar is it by using “Yes/No” questions like “Does your person have blonde hair?" or "Does your person wear glasses?”.
Once an avatar has been discovered, another student will spin the wheel.
This plan integrates the avatar creation app as a fun and engaging way to practice descriptive vocabulary and a simple guessing lesson.
