Wind Ensemble

The Garner Magnet High School Wind Ensemble consists of our most advanced 9th - 12th Grade students. Students must audition to be a part of this ensemble.  Auditions include scales, a solo, and sight reading. This group has ocassional additional rehearsals outside of the school day, typically scheduled after school. The Wind Ensemble travels around Wake County and regionally, and plays music written for advanced wind bands. This group participates in our district Concert Band Assessment (MPA or Music Performance Adjudication) and occasionally travels in the Spring to compete at either a Music in the Parks competition hosted at either Busch Gardens (VA) or Carowinds. 

Wind Ensemble is designed for musicians with the following:

• 5 - 8 years of ensemble band experience

• A successful audition for membership into the ensemble
