Program Offerings

Students will rehearse and perform a variety of music from the wind band repertoire. Students will develop technical skills on their instrument as well as study music theory, music history, and rehearsal and performance techniques. Participation in after-school rehearsals and performances is mandatory.

Students demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency through a variety of advanced instrumental literature. An understanding of the broad aspects of music (theory, history, tone production, interpretation), are necessary for success in this advanced level course. Success at the honors level requires rigorous study, excellence in performance, extensive knowledge of all areas of music including music theory, and an in-depth study of a variety of advanced music literature. Participation in after-school rehearsals and performances is mandatory

Marching Band is open to any student who is a member of a curricular band or dance class.  The marching band starts rehearsals during the summer and performs into December. They provide music for Friday night varsity football games and are featured in several local parades. Every year, the marching band prepares a field show and competes across the state with other bands.
